The Three Days of Darkness are a revealed tragedy on the world for the repeated failure and lack of repentance to adhere to God. This is a major chastisement which will see devastation descend upon humanity.
A future catastrophic warning and horrific event that will be unleashed on all humanity is known as the Three Days of Darkness. Whilst many scoff at this event, however, the number of mystics who have written and spoken about such an event, cannot be ignored. The mystics provide warnings, signs, description and how to prepare for the Three Days of Darkness.
The Three Days of Darkness, whilst unbelievable to many and sounds like something one would witness in a science-fiction or horror movie, the reality is possible. If fact, the Bible provides the doubter with precedence of such an event.

What does the Bible say about a Three Days of Darkness?
In the Bible we read passages that reveal days of darkness as sent by God for man’s refusal to obey God and follow in the path of righteousness.

Old Testament References
The ninth plague God sent was the three days of darkness and the following quote is taken from Exodus 10:21:
“And the Lord said to Moses: stretch out by hand towards heaven: and may there be darkness upon the land of Egypt so thick that it may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand towards heaven: and there came horrible darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days. No man saw his brother, nor moved himself Out of the place where he was: but wheresoever the children of Israel dwellet, there was light.”
The prophet Isaiah also spoke of a day of darkness:
“Behold, the day of the Lord shall come, a cruel day, and full of indignation, and of wrath, and fury, to lay the land desolate, and to destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
For the stars of heaven, and their brightness shall not display their light: the sun shall be darkened in his rising, and the moon shall not shine with her light. And I will visit the evils of the world, and against the wicked for their iniquity: and I will make the pride of infidels to cease and will bring down the arrogancy of the mighty. (Isaiah 13: 9-11)
New Testament References
From the New Testament, we also learn that a cloak of darkness enveloped the world when Our Lord died on Calvary as was recorded by the Evangelists:
“Then from the sixth hour, there was darkness over the entire earth, until the ninth hour” (St Matthew 27:45).
“And when the sixth hour came, there was darkness throughout all the earth, until the ninth hour” (St Mark 15:33).
“But it was almost the sixth hour, and there was darkness in the entire earth, until the ninth hour” (St Luke 23:44).
The Bible provides clear proof that a day or two or three of darkness is a reality and should that be the Will of God, who are we to doubt God’s Will.
What do the mystics say about the Three Days of Darkness?
What is a ‘Mystic’?
A Mystic is someone who communicates some form of mystery or mysterious experience. Of the mystics that are in relation to the Three Days of Darkness the following have played a major role. These include:
- Blessed Anna Maria Taigi.
- Blessed Elizabeth Canori Mora.
- Blessed Sister Elena Aioli.
- Marie-Julie Jahenny.
Each of these modern-day prophets have something to enlighten on the Three Days of Darkness.
What did Blessed Anna Maria Taigi have to say about the Three Days of Darkness?
Blessed Anna Maria Taigi states:
“… There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion. It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles. He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot.
During these three days, people should remain in their homes, pray the Rosary and beg God for mercy. On this terrible occasion so many of these wicked men, enemies of His Church, and of their God, shall be killed by this divine scourge, that their corpses around Rome will be as numerous as the fishes, which a recent inundation of the Tiber had carried into the city.
All the enemies of the Church, secret as well as known, will perish over the whole earth during that universal darkness, with the exception of some few, whom God will soon after convert. The air shall be infested by demons, who will appear under all sorts of hideous forms. After the three days of darkness, Saints Peter and Paul, having come down from heaven, will preach throughout the world and designate a new Pope.
A great light will flash from their bodies and settle upon the cardinal, the future pontiff. Then Christianity will spread throughout the world. Whole nations will join the Church shortly before the reign of the Antichrist. These conversions will be amazing. Those who survive shall have to conduct themselves well.
There shall be innumerable conversions of heretics, who will return to the bosom of the Church; all will note the edifying conduct of their lives, as well as that of other Catholics. Russia, England and China will come into the Church.”
Here are the key points from the revelation by Blessed Anna Maria Taigi:
- That the air will be laden with pestilence.
- The only light that will be possible are those from Blessed Bees Wax Candles.
- The warning and the danger of looking outside.
- Praying the Rosary.
- That many will perish.
- Saint Peter and St Paul will elect a new Pope and the entire world will be Catholic.
This will all come before the reign of the Anti-Christ.
What did Marie-Julie Jahenny say about the Three Days of Darkness?
Marie-Julie Jahenny has provided the clearest warnings and signs on the Three Days of Darkness. Marie-Julie Jahenny announced that the Three Days of Darkness will be preceded by several warnings including a Two Days of Darkness and that will be preceded by a four hour of darkness.
The places that we are all called to look towards are in France.
Here is the full-text of Marie-Julie Jahenny:
Our Lord (October 5, 1882):
“My people, My people, My people, your eyes will see the beginning of the terrible hour, when the wheat is not the third node of growth.
At the moment when My people will only have Faith and Hope to arm itself, still in the hard season, (i.e. still in winter, not yet spring) lasting for four hours – from 12:00 to 4:00 in France – in those hard days still, the sun will be like a veil of mourning; it will be darkened, without light.
Never could anyone on earth believe in the blackness of this darkness. The earth will have nothing more. The eye will be veiled, without it being able to see any object.
My people, this will be the beginning of My punishment of Justice.
The sun will announce these sorrows: the sky will cry, unable to be comforted, because it will be the entrance of the time when souls will be lost, the entrance, in a word of the terrible misfortune. My people, this darkness will cover Brittany in the space of four hours, but there will not be any hurt (or evil) … simply a small fright.”
(December 23, 1881):
“Suddenly it will rise a tearing result of blasphemy that, from the Centre (Paris) of all the evils, all will sound. Suddenly, from the midst of the Centre, there will be voices, shouts and hateful songs, confused cries and the poor people will not have time to escape.
The streets will be closed, the passages blocked, a painful massacre in the midst of the expanse of the disaster. The true apostles, known by the energy of their courage, it will be on those whom they want to avenge themselves with rage and fury, the two-days, storm of heaven and earth, the claps of thunder will come before their time (winter).
Their lightning will be on the earth of the kingdom during the two days where there will rise the terrible thunderstorm. No more repose in the middle of the Centre, nothing to deliver it during these two days. They will slice the heads of a few with the weapons of death, and will make Christians die by bullets. For two days and two nights, no repose, nor sleep. Many people will perish.”
(September 20, 1880):
“During these two days the trees will be burned and will not produce any fruit the following year, because the sap will be burned and stopped.
The rain that falls from the sky below will have a foul odour, and wherever it falls, it will be as a big hailstone of fire that pierces that which is most solid and will leave a visible mark of burning.
Your homes will be preserved. Only that which is covered lightly will suffer.”
“The water that will be poured on the earth will be black, a frightening black and most of the land will bear it equally everywhere, but it will not hurt that which serves as food to the Christians.”
“In Brittany, in these two days of darkness, under the lowering sky, it will seem light, but no one will be able to see, because they cannot put out their face by day when opening a door; there will be an envoy of God, in the form of a hot flash, which will obscure the human eye.”
“The Lord is urging me to pass on His words and His wishes.
The day of these darknesses will still be bearable, despite the darkness … But if the day is calm, the night will be violent, and during the two nights, cries will come out where they know not, they will hear nothing, nor walk on earth, covered with Justice.
At night, the blessed candle, the candle should not be put out. During the day, they will be able to go without it, a grace that comes from beyond the Heart of God.”
(November 28, 1881):
“The sun shall be darkened before, looking ahead to the real darkness that will arrive 37 days after the signs of the darkening of the sun and of signs of the earth and the announced storm.”
[January 4, 1884]:
“The crisis will explode suddenly; the punishments will be shared by all and will succeed one another without interruption …”
“The three days of darkness will be on a THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
Days of the Most Holy Sacrament, of the Cross and Our Lady … three days less one night.”
Our Lady (September 20, 1882):
“The earth will be covered in darkness, and Hell will be loosed on earth. Thunder and lightning will cause those who have no faith or trust in My Power, to die of fear.”
[December 8, 1882]
“During these three days of terrifying darkness, no windows must be opened, because no one will be able to see the earth and the terrible colour it will have in those days of punishment without dying at once …”
“The sky will be on fire, the earth will split … During these three days of darkness let the blessed candle be lighted everywhere, no other light will shine …”
“No one outside a shelter will survive. The earth will shake as at the judgment and fear will be great. Yes, We will listen to the prayers of your friends; not one will perish. We will need them to publish the glory of the Cross …”
“THE CANDLES OF BLESSED WAX ALONE WILL GIVE LIGHT during this horrible darkness.
ONE CANDLE alone will be enough for the duration of this night of hell … In the homes of the wicked and blasphemers these candles will give NO LIGHT.”
“Everything will shake except the piece of furniture on which the blessed candle is burning. This will not shake. You will all gather around with the crucifix and my blessed picture. This is what will keep away this terror.”
“During this darkness the devils and the wicked will take on THE MOST HIDEOUS SHAPES … red clouds like blood will move across the sky. The crash of the thunder will shake the earth and sinister lightning will streak the heavens out of season. The earth will be shaken to its foundations. The sea will rise, its roaring waves will spread over the continent. ..”
“THE EARTH WILL BECOME LIKE A VAST CEMETERY.
The bodies of the wicked and the just will cover the ground.”
“Three-quarters of the population of the globe will disappear. Half the population of France will be destroyed.”
In summary, the last crises will be divided in three parts:
- The first, long and painful when divine vengeance will be manifested during which the most guilty will be destroyed. “This blow of justice will only irritate them.”
- The second will be shorter but more formidable, more sinister: “My Divine Son, seeing that all these blows cannot bring back His people to pardon and mercy—lost souls—will strike again more fearfully.”
- The third: “Everything must be lost, from top to bottom. That, my dear children, is when Saint Michael the Archangel, who is awaiting orders from Heaven, will descend with his armies to fight with my good children, the true and good children of victory…Justice will pass everywhere. During all this time, you will not have the Bread of the strong [Holy Communion]…[you will have] No apostles, you will have only your faith as food and my Divine Son, as Sovereign Priest, to forgive you.”
What message did Blessed Sister Elena Aioli receive about the Three Days of Darkness?
Blessed Sister Elena Aioli’s message was short but on point.
Here is what she said:
“… the church is opposed, and the priests are despised because of the bad ones who give scandal. Clouds with lightning flashes of fire in the Sky and a Tempest of fire shall fall upon the world. And this terrible scourge, never before seen in the history of humanity, will last 72 hours.
Godless persons will be crushed and wiped out. Many will be lost because they remain in their obstinacy of scene. Then shall be saying the power of light over the power of darkness. Once there was a chastisement by water, but if there is not a returning to God, there will come the chastisement by fire, which will cover the streets of the world with blood.”
The final mystic is Blessed Elizabeth Canori Maor.
What was the message and warning behind Blessed Elizabeth Canori Mora on the Three Days of Darkness?
Blessed Elizabth Canori Mora shared the following:
Our Lady appeared extremely sad. Upon inquiring why, Our Lady answered,
“Behold, my daughter, such great ungodliness.”
Blessed Elizabeth then saw,
“Apostates brazenly trying to rip Her most Holy Son from her arms. Confronted with such an outrage, the Mother of God ceased to ask mercy for the world, and instead requested justice from the Eternal Father. Clothed in His inexorable Justice and full of indignation, He turned to the world.
At that moment all nature went into convulsions, the world lost its normal order and was filled with the most terrible calamity imaginable. This will be something so deplorable and atrocious that it will reduce the world to the ultimate depths of desolation.”

“Saint Peter descending from heaven, robed in papal vestments and surrounded by a legion of angels. With his crosier he drew great cross over the face of the earth, separating it into four quadrants. In each of these quadrants, he then brought forth a tree, sprouting with new life. Each tree was in the shape of a cross and enveloped in magnificent light.
All the good laity and religious fled for protection underneath these trees and were spared from the tremendous chastisement. Woe! Woe to those unobservant religious who despise their Holy Rules.
They will all perish in the terrible chastisement together with all who give themselves to debauchery and follow the false maxims of their deplorable contemporary philosophy! The sky took on a morbid blue color which terrified everyone who looked at it. A dark wind blew everywhere.
An impassioned and mournful shrieking filled the air, like the terrible roar of a fierce lion, and resounded all over the earth in blood curdling echoes. All men and animals brimmed with terror. The entire world convulsed and everyone pitilessly slaughtered one another…
When this bloody fight will arrive, the vengeful hand of God will weigh upon these fated ones and with His omnipotence He will chastise the proud for their rashness and shameless insolence.
God will use the powers of darkness to exterminate these sectarian, iniquitous and criminal men, who plot to eradicate the Catholic Church, our Holy Mother, by tearing Her up by Her deepest roots, and casting Her on the ground.
There you have four of the prominent visionaries and mystics on the Three Days of Darkness. Whilst there are others, the four mentioned in this article all make consistent claims.
Therefore, how should we be preparing for this horrific period? There are two main areas of preparation – a spiritual and a physical readiness.
The answers are from the messages and are set down below.
How to prepare for the Three Days of Darkness?
Our Lord declared that “all the crises will occur throughout the world and
will happen ‘ceaselessly’ one right after the other”. (January 4, 1884)
Spiritually:
- Remain in God’s Grace through regular Confession.
- Frequent the Sacrament of Holy Communion i.e. Mass every Sunday as a minimum.
- Pray the Rosary every day without fail.
- Perform acts of charity, penance and sacrifice.
- Offer reparation for all sins committed against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.
- Read the Bible, St Jerome reminds us that “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.”
- Enrol and wear the Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel devoutly.
- Obtain a Blessed Miraculous Medal and wear devoutly.
- Practice the First Five Saturday devotion.
- Practice the First Friday devotion.
Physically:
- Obtain 100% Pure Bees Wax and have them Blessed.
- Images of the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart of Mary in your home.
- Obtain a Crucifix.
- Sprinkle Holy Water around the house (inside and outside).
- Sprinkle Blessed Salts around the house (inside and outside).
- Cover your windows and DO NOT LOOK OUTSIDE DURING THESE DAYS.
- Place Blessed St Benedict Medal, Miraculous Medal and Scapular both on you and around the house.
- Plenty of canned food such as tuna, salmon, water and essentials.
Reminder these are warnings for which are contingent on our response.
Prophecies are handed to us by Heaven, but our response is the key.
